Why DotrixAI exists, and how it works
DotrixAI is a founder led, independent research laboratory. Its ambition comes from one research problem: the cost of intelligence.
Foundations
Expand the amount of useful intelligence available to humanity.
Expand human cognitive capacity through safe and efficient artificial intelligence.
Develop foundational AI technologies that make advanced intelligence dramatically more efficient and accessible.
Intelligence accelerates progress. Making intelligence more efficient and widely accessible can accelerate the progress of civilization itself.
Efficiency is a mechanism for access.
Human progress is strongly constrained by the intelligence available to solve problems.
More usable intelligence can speed up scientific discovery, engineering, invention and analysis. It can also deepen how we learn and understand complex systems.
Artificial intelligence creates cognitive capacity that can scale. That allows a reinforcing cycle between intelligence, discovery and technology.
But advanced intelligence is expensive to train and operate. When it is expensive, access concentrates among those with the most capital and compute.
DotrixAI therefore works to make advanced intelligence more efficient and more affordable. It should also be scalable, practical and safe to use. For us, efficiency is not merely an engineering optimization.
Human intelligence plus machine intelligence.
AI should increasingly become a safe and efficient extension of human cognitive capacity.
Humans created artificial intelligence. Human and machine intelligence need not evolve as disconnected systems.
Over time, AI can augment how people think, research, learn, design, create, reason and discover.
Biological cognition need not be the final ceiling of effective human capability. DotrixAI wants to contribute the foundational technology for that transition.
This is a long horizon. We describe it plainly and claim nothing about timing.
Capability per unit of economic cost.
Efficiency
Intelligence should need as little computation, energy, memory, infrastructure and capital as possible.
Evidence
Claims are tested against strong alternatives with fair baselines. Unexpected failures are not hidden.
First principles
Existing architectures are used when useful. We stay willing to derive new mechanisms from first principles.
Negative results
A failed architecture can still eliminate part of the search space or reveal a mechanism.
Scientific honesty
One benchmark result is not universal proof. Measured, estimated and projected results stay distinguishable.
Novelty is not the objective
Existing ideas are reused when they work. The objective is better intelligence technology.
Efficiency without safety is incomplete progress.
Increasing intelligence increases capability. Greater capability can produce both benefit and risk.
AI progress should account for reliability, controllability, misuse, alignment, systemic risk and secure deployment.
Safety is part of how DotrixAI defines progress. It is a principle and a research direction, not a solved problem.
Research that pays for more research.
Our expected model is licensing technology that research produces. Revenue then funds the next round of research.
